Abstract:
To prevent wear of a photoreceptor due to discharge in a non-contact charging device.SOLUTION: An imaging system includes: a photoreceptor 40 including a surface to form a static latent image; a non-contact charging device 41 for charging the surface of the photoreceptor, which is spaced apart from the photoreceptor and operates in an image-forming period for charging an imaging part on the surface of the photoreceptor and a non-image-forming period for charging a non-imaging part on the surface of the photoreceptor; a power source 70 to apply a voltage to the charging device; and a controller 72 which changes a signal parameter of the voltage to be applied by the power source during the non-image-forming period, in order to adjust a current flowing from the charging device to the photoreceptor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
