To provide an immersion nozzle for continuous casting excellent in erosion resistance with which in the case of performing the continuous casting, such problem as to bring about the deterioration of the quality in a cast slab and the instability of the casting operation caused by the development of clogging and closing of the nozzle by sticking and the depositing alumina inclusion on the immersion nozzle and the erosion resistance of the immersion nozzle is improved from the initial stage of the casting and the service life of the nozzle can be improved and the stickiness of metal at the initial stage of the casting can be prevented and also, the stability of the casting and the improvement of the quality of the cast slab can be obtained.
The immersion nozzle for continuous casting, excellent in the erosion resistance, contains 20-70 mass% MgO content in an aggregate blending a dolomite clinker and has 0.33-3.0 W1/W2 ratio of W1 mass% of CaO content and W2 mass% of MgO content, contained in this refractory, and lines the internal layer in the refractory composed of ≤10 mass% carbon concentration and further, forms the refractory containing Al2O3 or the larger composed of the refractory material having lower melting point than that of the dolomite clinker formed on the surface of the internal layer.
