To prevent deterioration of an operation accuracy of equipment by controlling moving speed of a piston for alleviating impact to a cylinder wall face, preventing occurrence of noise, and improving durability of a cylinder and equipment integrated therewith.
This impact alleviative cylinder has a piston position detecting sensor 3 provided in a cylinder 1 nearer to a stroke end point 13, and an air supply/exhaust device P connected to an air supply/exhaust outlet (port A) via an air supply/exhaust piping 14 near a stroke start point 12. An air supply/ exhaust piping 15 is connected to an air supply/exhaust outlet (port B) near the stroke end point 13 of the cylinder 1, and an air injection piping is connected to the air supply/exhaust piping 15 via a check valve 5. The air supply/exhaust piping 15 of an extension of a portion having an air supply/exhaust piping connected is an exhaust piping 16, and an air exhaust amount control mechanism 4, comprising a solenoid valve 41 connected to a piston position sensor 2 and a throttle valve 42, is provided to the exhaust piping 16.
