PURPOSE: To improve the hammer springs wear-resistance without affecting its mechanical and magnetic characteristics by limiting the elongated region of a wear-resistant material section plated on hammer springs to the face in contact with a pair of pole pieces of hammer springs.
CONSTITUTION: A hammer spring is elongated between the first edge section 60 and the second edge section 62 thereof. The first edge section 60 is supported by a supporting structure and the second edge section 62 has a face 76 in contact with pole pieces 16 and 18. Wear-resistant material sections 84 and 86 are plated on the hammer spring, and the elongated region of these wear- resistant material sections 84 and 86 is limited to the face in contact with a pole piece face 76 of the second edge section.
