Title:
IMPACT-RESISTANT POLYPHENYLENE SULFIDE COMPOSITION AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3640103
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject composition improved in impact resistance in addition to heat and chemical resistaces and flame retardance by selecting a fluorine-containing polymer as a blending material for a polyphenylene sulfide composition.
SOLUTION: This impact-resistant polyphenylene sulfide composition comprises (A) a fluorine-containing graft polymer prepared by grafting (ii) a vinyl monomer having a functional group capable of imparting the affinity or adhesion (preferably epoxy, carboxylic acid anhydride residue or hydrolyzable silyl) onto (i) a fluorine-containing polymer containing H bonded to C atom in the main chain, (B) a polyphenylene sulfide and (C) and inorganic filler. The component (i) is preferably a tetrafluoroethylene-ethylene-based copolymer and the component (ii) is preferably glycidyl methacrylate, trimethoxyvinylsilane or maleic anhydride. The component C is preferably glass fibers or carbon fibers. The respective components are melt kneaded in a melt molding machine and molded into the form of pellets.
