Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce air resistance so as to eliminate the swinging or vibration during the use of a helmet by increasing the width of a surface of an outer shell when approaching the downstream until it becomes the maximum width and ending the surface thereof at the position where the width is the maximum.
CONSTITUTION: A band 12 is attached to a helmet 10 of ordinary type, the band 12 is such that the largest part in the width in the transverse direction of the helmet 10 is extended by a small distance and ends abruptly in a substantially right-angled terminal part or a rear surface 14, and the rear surface 14 of the band is the orthogonal or linear surface. The band 12 is attached by using adhesive, an inlet hole 13 for air is arranged in the front of the helmet, and air which enters through the hole 13 flows around the head of a person who wears the helmet to cool the head and passes a rear opening hole 15 so that it is pulled out to the outside by low pressure which occurs on the rear surface of the helmet. Consequently, it is possible to eliminate the rise of the helmet caused by the blade effect due to the flow of air which flows backward and linearly from the widest part of the helmet.
