Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new method regarding the field of recombinant DNA technology and for producing glycosyltransferase by the use of a transformed yeast strain.
CONSTITUTION: This method comprises the production of membrane-bound mammalian glycosyltransferase selected from the group consisting of galatosytransferase, sialyltransferase and fucosyltransferase, or variants thereof, being characterized by that a yeast strain transformed by a hybrid vector containing an expression cassette containing a DNA sequence (to be controlled by a promoter) coding for the promoter and glycosyltransferase or variants thereof is cultured and the resultant enzymatic activity is recovered.
