Abstract:
To provide a rapid, successive and effective treatment of migraine headache, and a dosage form therefor.
The dosage form useful in the treatment of migraine contains metoclopramide and one or more NSAIDs in amounts effective for treatment, and is regulated as follows: (a) the dosage form is absent in 5HT agonist vasoactive agents; (b) the NSAID has at least 4 hr half time and at least 6 hr duration of action; and (c) the NSAID (nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug) and the metoclopramide are mutually separated by a barrier coating surrounding the NSAID and retarding the release.
