This improvement method for the dental crown color tone is constituted to include the following stages (A) to (C): A masking material is mixed with glass ionomer cement and the mixture is colored to the desired color tone (stage A). The glass ionomer cement colored by the stage (A) is applied on the dental crown 10 and is cured to form a base layer 12 on the surface of the dental crown 10 (stage B). A hard resin is packed to the surface of this base layer 12 and is cured, by which a coating layer 13 is formed (stage C). This cement for improving the dental crown color tone is constituted by mixing the masking material for suppressing the light transparency of the cement with the glass ionomer cement.
