PURPOSE: To obtain a banking method, through which settlement is reduced and a landslide is diminished, by banking clayey soil, in which lightweight aggregate is blended with the sand and soil of a weak ground.
CONSTITUTION: In a foundation improvement method through which banking is conducted on a weak ground, clayey soil in which lightweight aggregate is mixed with one pts.vol. sand and soil of the weak ground at the rate of 0.01W0.9 pts.vol. is used as the banking. When the density of the weak ground is represented by 1.3W2.0g/cm3, the density of banking is brought to 0.3W1.3g/cm3. The binder of cements, quick limes, etc., is further mixed with lightweight aggregate, thus increasing the strength of the banking of clayey soil and improved soil. Accordingly, the sand and soil of the weak ground at a site can be utilized as the components of banking, thus reducing the cost of the transport of pit sand as used in conventional methods.
