Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an improver for liver function effective as a therapeutic agent for jecur adiposum, liver cirrhosis, etc., which is difficult to cure completely, basically having function of improving liver microsome.
CONSTITUTION: An improver for liver function comprises docosahexaenoic acid or its derivative as an active ingredient. The compound of the active ingredient specifically metabolizes cholesterol accumulated in liver microsome by reduction or abnormality of metabolism, recovers flexibility of fat membrane of microsome, activates action of enzyme, simultaneously reduces neutral fats significantly and enhances liver cells. A dose of docosahexaenoic acid is 0.1-50g, preferably 0.5-10g.
