Abstract:
To enable accurate fuel injection corresponding to a plurality of combustion systems.
The fuel injection device of a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine injects fuel into a cylinder by a fuel injection valve having a plurality of nozzle holes and a plurality of needles for opening and closing the nozzle holes. The number of the needles of the fuel injection valve that operate for opening the nozzle holes is controlled according to various combustion modes such as homogeneous mixture combustion, stratified charge combustion and weak stratified charge combustion decided based on the operating state of the engine.
