Abstract:
To provide an in-furnace foreign matter detection device that hardly receives load due to heat from a furnace body of a heating furnace, and can selectively detect a foreign matter with a predetermined size, and an in-furnace foreign matter detection method using the same.SOLUTION: An in-furnace foreign matter detection device 1 has a light source part 11 and a detection part 12 which are independently arranged apart from a wall surface of a heating furnace 5 outside an in-furnace space S where an object is accommodated. The detection part detects probe light which is emitted from the light source part and passes through a reference optical path to be reflected by the wall surface 52 of the heating furnace 5. Defining the height of the reference optical path from a furnace bottom 53 as a reference height and the time from emission of the probe light from the light source part to detection of the probe light having passed through the reference optical path by the detection part as a reference time, it is determined that a foreign matter whose height from the furnace bottom 53 is the reference height is present in the in-furnace space S on condition that a reference state detected by the detection part shifts to a state which does not satisfy the reference state at the point of time when the reference time passes after the probe light is emitted from the light source part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
