To provide an in-vehicle display device with its display screen installed on a position easy to be seen from a driver and with an operating means provided on a display member capable of being manually operated in a comfortable posture.

When a hand or other things approach the display screen 103a of the display member 103, a detection sensor detects approaching of the hand or other things to the display screen 103a. The display member 103 comes to an operating position while sliding a sliding groove 105A by an upper panel 101 and a rack support member 104A, etc., based on a detection signal from the detection sensor. This allows the driver to easily operate the in-vehicle display device 100 by touching the display screen 103a with a hand. Especially, the driver can operate the in-vehicle display device without changing the driving posture during travel and can keep safety of travelling.
