Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the digital image acquisition system by using multi-scanning from each sensor element of a sensor array thereby obtaining a high resolution image.
SOLUTION: This image scanner with increased resolution includes a sensor array 34 and each sensor of the array generates a signal representing an optical energy focused thereto. A reflected light from a relating sample is given to the sensor element array. Each sensor element generates a signal denoting a 1st small part of a pixel corresponding to the related image. The image scanner with increased resolution includes an orientation means orienting each sensor to the related sample so as to generate a signal denoting at least a 2nd small part of each selected pixel such as wedges 24, 26. Both data sets are combined and a high resolution digital image of the related sample is obtained.
