To clarify the stationary range for the walking weak on a step tread by color to enhance the appealability and also provide excellent design property by providing an indicator for showing the stationary or walking position of a passenger within a cleat groove, and setting the color of the indicator to the same color series as a caution band.

A passenger conveyor 1 is endlessly connected from a landing floor 2 to the other landing floor, and it comprises a number of cleat grooves 3B formed in one direction on the tread 3A, a substrate for the bottom part thereof, and rear and side caution bands 3Z colored yellow. Two kinds of indictors of a stationary foot indicator 3a of the same color series as the caution band showing the form of neatly arranged feet and a waling foot indicator 3b of the same color series of the caution band alternately showing one foot are provided on the cleat groove 3B on one side W1 of the tread 3A and on the cleat groove 3B on one side W2 of the tread 3A, respectively. Accordingly, the appealability and design property can be improved by the integrated color matching of the same color series as the caution band.
