A reception part 252 receives a cursor shift signal generated in the transmission part 164 of a remote controller 100 and a cursor display part 258 controls the position of a cursor. When a selection key 154 is depressed from the remote controller 100, a menu execution part 260 responds to it and executes an instruction following the menu item where the present cursor is positioned. When the selection menu item contains the sub-menu item, the menu execution part 260 controls a menu display part 254 and displays a sub-menu. The menu display part 254 obtains information on the sub-menu from a menu storage part 256. The cursor display part 258 refers to area information of the item where the cursor is to be positioned and displays the cursor in the center point.
