PURPOSE: To highly safely recognize an individual by providing an object, on which an identifier to identify the individual is recorded, at a position where the jewel of a ring, etc., is to be placed and detecting the identifier according to a conducting state on an electric contact.
CONSTITUTION: An identifier recording part 11 provided for the ring, etc., is made of a conductor, and, for example, '1' of an identification code is processed so as to have a surface shape corresponding to a convexity, and '0' of the identification code is processed so as to have another surface shape corresponding to a concavity respectively. The identifier can be recorded into a pattern composed of the conductor and an insulator, into an integrated circuit, or into another pattern composed of parts having different optical reflectance ratios. When it is necessary to identify the individual, the identifier recording part 11 is contacted on an identification code reader 14. Electric contacts 15, the number of which is the one necessary for reading the identification code, are provided for the identification code reader 14. While a projected part 12 of the identifier recording part 1 contacts with the contact 15, a recessed part 13 of the identifier recording part 11 never contacts with the contact 15. Thus, the identification code can be read by the electric conducting, and the individual can be recognized by a recognizing device 16 in the identification code reader 14.
