Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a composition containing anhydrous indomethacin sodium salt, having chemical stability, free from the problems of discoloration, etc., giving an easily soluble freeze-dried preparation and useful for the remedy and prevention of AIDS and AIDS-relating syndrome.

CONSTITUTION: The objective injection containing anhydrous indomethacin sodium salt can be produced by dissolving indomethacin in a solvent permissible from the viewpoint of safety [preferably a water-soluble volatile solvent (e.g., lower alcohol or lower ketone, especially ethanol)], dripping an aqueous solution of sodium carbonates to the solution to form indomethacin sodium salt, optionally adding a proper additive such as excipient or isotonic agent, heating at 10-60°C, preferably 20-40°C and freeze-drying the mixture.
