Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3423364
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive induction melting apparatus having structure as compact as possible, in which melting process and casting process are carried out, while minimizing secondary times.
CONSTITUTION: An induction melting apparatus for melting a reactive metal having a high melting point closed to the atmosphere has a connection 5 to a negative pressure source or an inert gas source, a metallic melting crucible 1 surrounded by an induction coil 17 which is not lined, and a mold 9 disposed under a flow-out section at the lower part of the melting crucible 1. The melting crucible 1 has a cover 3 for hermetically closing off the crucible, and a circumferential wall type prolongation 7 which extends downward, wherein the mold 9 is disposed in the prolongation 7 tightly to the inner circumferential wall thereof.
