To provide an induction motor which can effectively cool a stator, a rotor and an induction motor body without enlarging the rotor and the induction motor body and to provide the rotor used in the induction motor.

The induction motor 1 includes: a rotor core 41 which integrally rotates with a rotating shaft 2; a pair of end rings 42 which are oppositely arranged on both end sides in a shaft direction of the rotating shaft 2 of the rotor core 41; and a plurality of blade sections 43 which are disposed between an inner diameter of the end ring 42 and an outer diameter of the rotor core 41 so as to project them in a direction of opposite sides of the rotor core 41 from end faces of the end rings 42. At least one blade section 43 is arranged so that an arbitrary projected height from the end face of the end ring 42 becomes the same and an extending direction in the same projected height position is extended in a direction different from a diameter direction of the rotating shaft 2.
