PURPOSE: To decrease the amt. of the alloy for build-up welding to be used and to reduce the cost of welding by using a heat resisting steel to form the part of a skid in the low temp. region on the inlet side in a furnace and building up a heat- and wear resistant alloy by welding to form the part in the high temp. region on the outlet side.
CONSTITUTION: A skid plate 27 consisting of a steel having heat resistance such as carbon steel or alloy steel is fixed by welding to the part of a skid pipe 23 forming a skid 21 in the low temp. region on the inlet side in a furnace of an induction heater. On the other hand a build-up layer 23 formed by build-up welding of an alloy for build-up welding having heat and wear resistance is provided to the remaining part of the pipe 23 in the high temp. region on the outlet side in the furnace. The operation for build-up welding is thus reduced and the welding strain to be generated is decreased. Generation of electrolytic corrosion and wear is prevented and the cost over the entire part of the device and the cost for maintenance are reduced.
