Title:
INDUCTIVE CONVERTER AND MEASURING APPARATUS FOR MOVABLE MEMBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0427819
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the displacement of a movable member having a ferromagnetic target through a low permeability or nonmagnetic metal wall using an exciting coil generating a magnetic field and a U-shaped ferromagnetic core disposed back to back on a same plane.

CONSTITUTION: The induction converter is disposed such that a detecting plane 16 comprising the forward ends of two branch parts 12, 14 of the ferromagnetic core 2 thereof faces a movable member and the branch parts 12, 14 are set vertical to the moving direction of the moving member. When an object fixed to the moving member passes through the vicinity of the forward end of the branch parts 12, 14, the moving member tends to close a magnetic circuit comprising a first ferromagnetic core surrounded by an exciting coil 4. Consequently, variation of an electromagnetic quantity can be detected through the magnetic circuit.
