Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new germicide, excellent in exterminating effects on bacteria or molds and suppressing effects on propagation and good in preservation stability by blending a germicide comprising a cyanoacetamide compound with methylenebisthiocyanate with a specific compound.
CONSTITUTION: This industrial germicide is obtained by adding (C) an inorganic salt having an oxidizing ability to a germicide prepared by combining (A) a cyanoacetamide compound of the formula (X is a halogen; Y is H or a halogen; R1 and R2 are each H or a lower alkyl) with (C) methylenebisthiocyanate. The ratio of the ingredients (B) to (C) is preferably with the range of (100:0.1) to (100:100). A nitrate is especially preferred as the ingredient (C). The blending weight ratio of the ingredients (A) to (B) is (10:1) to (1:10). Although the germicide contains the ingredients (A), (B) and (C) as active ingredients, the germicide containing the ingredients dissolved in an organic solvent such as an alkylene carbonate is advantageous. The germicide is capable of remarkably suppressing the decomposition of the cyanoacetamide compound and has ultrahigh stability.
