A memory stores a plurality of process models 112 corresponding to an available control form in an industrial process. Each of the process models includes a rule base to be used to determine the root cause of an aberration on the basis of a process signal. A root cause analysis block 112 reads a specific process model from the memory, uses a function, defining the process signal as an input, the rule base included in the process model 112 and the process signal as independent variables, and the root cause of the aberration as a dependent variable and determines a root cause of the aberration of the process model.
