Abstract:
To provide an indwelling needle less prone to cause flash-back blood to remain in an outer needle hub.SOLUTION: An indwelling needle 1 includes: an outer needle 2 in which an inner needle can be inserted; a cylindrical outer needle hub 3 provided at a base end of the outer needle 2; a hemostasis valve 4 in which the inner needle can be inserted and, after the inner needle is removed, prevents blood from leaking out from the outer needle hub 3; and an annular vent filter 14 that allows air in the outer needle hub 3 to pass therethrough, and suppresses or prevents passage of the blood in the outer needle hub 3. The indwelling needle further includes: an inner cylinder member 6 inserted into the vent filter 14 and capable of advancing in the outer needle hub 3 from a proximal position to a distal position, disposed in the outer needle hub 3; a hemostasis valve 4 provided in the inner cylinder member 6; and a flow path 9 provided on an outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder member 6, the flow path in which liquid supplied from the base end side of the outer needle hub 3 flows, that, at the base end position, causes the vent filter 14 to prevent connection to a tip end area 16, where a tip-side area of the outer needle hub 3 with respect to a tip end of the vent filter 14 is defined as the tip end area 16 in the outer needle hub 3, and that is connected to the tip end area 16 at the tip end position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
