Abstract:
An information control device that is a first device of a train on which a first device and a second device are mounted, the first device and the second device handling information provided to passengers, wherein the information control device comprises: a communication unit (201) that communicates with the second device; and a control unit (202) that acquires, from the second device via the communication unit (201) during startup of the train, a cumulative travel distance totaling the distance traveled by the train while the second device was operating, and assesses whether the first device is operating as a main system or as a standby system, the assessment being made on the basis of a first cumulative travel distance, which is the cumulative travel distance totaling the distance traveled by the train while the first device was operating, and a second cumulative travel distance, which is the cumulative travel distance acquired from the second device.
