To obtain a user-friendly information display device and information display system which can rewrite a display such as an advertisement based on electronic information.
This is an advertisement display system in which a host device 1 and plural advertisement display devices 10 are connected by a line 5 ore by radio. Each advertisement display device 10 is equipped with a display panel 11 constituted of liquid crystal display elements and with a memory in which information to be displayed is stored. Each advertisement display 10 can rewrite display contents on the basis of an instruction from the host device 1 while controllably invalidating such rewriting instruction from the host device 1 individually. In addition, display contents can be rewritten based on an instruction from a commanding means separate from the host device 1 (e.g. a remote controller).
