Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display optical system by which a thin and compact configuration is realized, an excellent image is obtained even by a wide display viewing angle and also an outer world is naturally observed by see-through. SOLUTION: The system is characterized in that the system has a prism provided with at least two reflection surfaces r6 and r5 which are arranged to face mutually and with a hologram surface r3 consisting of a reflection type hologram, at least one of the reflection surface is a light fluxes selection surface r4 or r2 for selectively performing transmission and reflection by an incident angle, image light from image display means 3 and 4, which is made incident on the prism is reflected, between the reflection surfaces, diffracted and reflected from the hologram surface, pass through the light fluxes selection surface and guided to the pupil 2 of an observer.
