Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the difficulty in input operation resulting from the extreme reduction in size of input keys by projecting an operation part and recognizing the operation of the input keys.
SOLUTION: A couple of projection parts 1a and 1b of an image projection device 1 are provided above both the sides of the display screen 4 of a personal computer. A couple of image pickup parts 2a and 2b of an image recognition device 2 are provided closely to them and pick up and convert video 5 projected by the projection parts 1a and 1b into image signals. The obtained image signals are sent to an image processor to find out the position where a finger of an operator is placed on the video 5 and also detect the movement of the finger. When the movement for operating the input key part is decided on the video 5 from the detection result, a signal indicating that the input key part has been operated is sent to the signal processor and a click sound is generated. Consequently, restrictions on the size reduction of the operation part for information input are eliminated to make the device configuration smaller in size.
