Abstract:
To solve the problem that much time is required for processing of searching for a color name because many color names are registered in one Named Profile and the problem that much time is required for search processing also when a color name not registered in a Named Profile is described in PDL.SOLUTION: When profiles to be downloaded to a device are designated, an information processing apparatus classifies the designated profiles on the basis of the first characters of prefixes and arbitrary numbers of character strings from the start of color chart names of the profiles, and with respect to each of the classified profiles, a profile to which the first character of the prefix and a name based on the arbitrary numbers of character strings from the start of the color chart names are given is generated.
