Abstract:
The present invention creates a system that allows MMT formatted data to be recorded onto a medium and played back as BDAV or SPAV formatted data. An MMT formatted stream file that stores MMT formatted data as playback data and a playback control information file compatible with the MMT format are generated and recorded onto a medium. The playback control information file has recorded therein timestamp information or access information in a control information storage packet that records the timestamp information applied to the playback of the storage data in a playback data storage packet that stores random access playback data. A playback device can instantly acquire a timestamp which is required during playback of data stored in the playback data storage packet and play back the data.
