Abstract:

To restore an effective page without destruction when starting at the next time, regardless of the occurrence of a power break during an erase and write operation to a certain page of a memory.

A management table is constituted of three pages. A pair of the first and second pages are used, and each page is used as an effective page and an ineffective page alternately to maintain data, and an effective page is copied to the third page. Even in the case that a power break occurs during page update, a stage of data write operation at the time of the power break can be determined on the basis of validity and stability of each page when starting at the next time. Consequently, the effective page is restored without destruction by using a proper repair method.
