To provide an information reader, an electronic identification tag, and a method for reading information, in which reading of electronic identification tags can be performed even in such a state that many articles are mixed together and collectively packed in a plastic bag or a cardboard case.
The information reader comprises a rotating plate 1 provided on a carrier line; a drive unit for making the rotating plate 1 spinned around; a substantially gantry-like gate 2 provided over the rotating plate; an antenna 3 provided in the gate 2 to emit radio waves toward an RFID tag and receive radio waves emitted from the RFID tag; metallic reflectors 4 provided on both sides of the antenna 3 to reflect the radio waves emitted from the RFID tag toward the antenna 3; and a device body inputting an information signal output from the antenna 3 which received the radio waves emitted from the RFID tag and reading the information signal.
