Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to provide a recording member for an optical disk such that a bit is blackened by the spot irradiation of laser beam, by setting the wt. ratio of a halogen-containing polymer and a light absorber to a specific range.

CONSTITUTION: In a heat mode information recording carrier having a recording layer formed by coating a substrate with a solution containing a halogen- containing polymer and a light absorber, the wt. ratio of the halogen-containing polymer and the light absorber is set to 0.1W100:1, pref., 1:0.1W10, more pref., 1:0.5W2. This ratio is selected so as to generate so as to generate blackening by laser beam. As the light absorber, there are pigment, a dye and infrared absorber etc. having an absorption wavelength in a laser wavelength region, for example, in a region of 0.5W0.9nm. By this method, a recording member for an optical disk such that the bit (hole) formed by the spot irradiation of the optical disk with laser beam is blackened is obtained.
