To easily realize the water resistance, scratch resistance, gloss, image storage properties, the prevention of the adhesion of fingerprints and facilitate the wiping off of stain of this information recording material by a method wherein a protective covering layer containing a thermal reaction type water- based polyurethane resin or thermoplastic water-based polyurethane resin is provided on the image carrying layer made of a hydrophilic polymer formed on a support.
An image carrying layer made of a hydrophilic polymer is formed on a support so as to provide a protective covering layer containing a thermal reaction type water based polyurethane resin or thermoplastic water- based polyurethane resin, which is a polymer compound containing polyisocyanate utilizing the reactivity of an isocyanate group with an active hydrogen compound, a urethane linkage obtained through the polyaddition reaction with polyol or the like on the image carrying layer. Thus, the water resistance, scratch resistance, gloss, image stored properties, the prevention of the adhesion of fingerprints and the easy wiping off of stain can easily be realized in this information recording material.
