To make an information storage apparatus redundant by preventing malfunctions in functions of the information storage apparatus.SOLUTION: An information storage apparatus includes a version determination unit that compares a version of software applied in an own apparatus and a version of software applied in the other party's information storage apparatus, a package transmission unit that transmits a software package when the own apparatus operates as an operational information storage apparatus and the version of the software applied in the own apparatus is more advanced, a control unit that makes the own apparatus in an offline state when the version of the software applied in the other party's information storage apparatus is more advanced, a package reception unit that receives a software package in association with the version of the software applied in the other party's information storage apparatus when the control unit makes the own apparatus in the offline state, and a version-up unit that installs the software package.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
