To remotely control a household electrical appliance, facilitate change of control information of the household electrical appliance, and improve security in an information transmission system.
In the information transmission system, a ticket gate machine reads ID information from a commuter pass, and transmits the ID information, with the time information indicating the time and the machine information of the own machine added, to a host computer (S102). The host computer transmits the ID information, the time information, and the position information of the ticket gate machine to a home server (S106). The home server has stored the control information of the household electrical appliance related to these pieces of information, and controls the household electrical appliance based on the information (S109). The transmission of such information enables the remote control of the household electric appliance. Since the control information is stored in the home server, the user can easily change the control information, can prevent information from eavesdropping in information communication, and can improve security.
