Title:
INFRARED DISTANCE MEASURING INSTRUMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63250508
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily measure a distance by one infrared camera by turning turntables where a reflecting mirror and a chopper type reflecting mirror are mounted respectively and thus accurately constituting an optical triangle. CONSTITUTION:The angle of rotation of the mirror surfaces of the reflecting mirror 3 and chopper type reflecting mirror 5 mounted on the turntables 4 and 6 respectively around positions meeting, for example, a line ce as origins are read on an added scale and then reflection points (b) and (c) are rotated, so the angles alpha and beta can be measured. Further, the reflecting mirror 5 is used at the point (b) where a 1st optical path ace is cut off, so images of the 1st and 2nd optical paths abe are picked up one over the other by the infrared camera 2 and both turntables are so rotated that the image of the target body 1 meets a specific coordinate position determined in the image plane, thereby accurately constituting the optical triangle abc. Consequently, the need for an expensive image processing circuit is eliminated and the distance to the target body is accurately and easily measured by the one camera 2.
