Abstract:
PURPOSE: To inhibit the demineralization of bone in mammals by administrating an effective quantity of a certain kind of ergoline analog. CONSTITUTION: This inhibitor contains a compound of the formula [X is CH and N; Y is O and S; R<1> is H, 2-propenyl, an 1-3C alkyl and benzyl capable of having one or two substituents (CH3 , C2 H5 , OCH3 , OC2 H5 , OH, Cl Br and F); R<2> is an 2-3C alkyl, an allyl and a cyclopropylmethyl; R<3> and R<4> are both H or are mutually combined] or its pharmaceutically permissible acid-addition salt, e.g. D-1-isopropyl-6-n-propyl-8 β-methylthiomethylergoline, a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a diluent or a vehicle. The efficient administration amount of the compound is in the range of 0.01-10mg/day, preferably 0.1-5mg/ day.
