PURPOSE: To obtain an inhibitor for propagation or migration of vascular smooth muscle cell containing specific isocarbacylines and expectable of availability to prevent or cure, etc., of restenosis after percutaneous coronary arterioplasty or arterial sclerosis.
CONSTITUTION: This inhibitor contains a compound expressed by formula I [W is phenylene, thiophenediyl or 3-7C cycloalkylene; R1 is H, methyl or ethyl, etc.; R2 is 3-9C (branched) alkyl or alkenyl, etc.; R30 is H, 1-10C alkyl or phenyl, etc.; Z10 and Z20 are each H or tri(1-7C hydrocarbon)silyl, etc.; (n) is 0 or 1; (m) is 0-4] or its enantiomer {e.g.(1S, 5S, 6S, 7R)-3-(o-carboxybenzyl)-6-[(1E, 3S)-3-hydroxy-1-octenyl]-7-hydroxybicyclo[3. 3. 0]-2-octene} as an active component. The compound of the formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II [Y is a group expressed by formula R4OC(=O)O- (R4 is 1-6C hydrocarbon group), etc.; Z1 is Z10; Z2 is Z20] with a compound of formula III (R3 is R30; X1 is a halogen).
