Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inhibitors of polysialic acid (PSA) de-N-acetylase, which inhibit the growth of cancer cells.SOLUTION: The present invention provides N-substituted derivatives of amino sugars hexosamine and neuraminic acid specified in the figure, which inhibit the growth of cancer cells. (In the formula, R1, R'1, R'2, R3, R4, R'4, R6, R'7, R'8 and R'9 each independently represent hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted moiety selected from the group consisting of a heteroatom, an alkyl, an aryl, a cycloalkyl, a heteroaryl, an alkenyl, an acyl, a sulfonyl, a carbohydrate, a lipid, a nucleic acid, a peptide, a dye, a fluorophore and a polypeptide.)
