PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel spiro condensed heterocyclic compound having β-secretase enzyme (BACE) inhibitory activity and being effective in treatment of BACE mediated disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, cognitive impairment, Down's Syndrome, HCHWA-D, cognitive decline, senile dementia, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, degenerative dementia, other neurodegenerative disorders and glaucoma.SOLUTION: A spiro condensed heterocyclic compound is represented by formula (1) in the figure. (The ring Het is a 5-membered or 6-membered monocyclic heterocycle; X is -O-, -C(RaRb)-C(R3R4)-, -C(R3R4)-C(RaRb)- or -C(R3R4)-; Ris H, =O, =S, alkyl or the like; Ris H, OH, alkoxy or the like; Ris H, halogen, CN or the like; and Rand Rform a ring together.)
