Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bone cement compositions that are easily made, possess improved strength, mechanical properties and bioactivity, and can be used also to fill a tooth defect.SOLUTION: A bone cement composition contains magnesium phosphate containing newberyite, a biocompatible polymer, and silica; and is in the form of an injectable paste, putty, or hardened mass. The bone cement composition further contains calcium phosphate such as monetite, where the biocompatible polymer is chitosan and the magnesium phosphate further contains bobierrite, and additionally contains Sr.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
