Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and inexpensively mass-produce metal soap blocks of good quality.
SOLUTION: Preheating zones A-D in a preheating tunnel 30 located at the inlet 28 of an injection apparatus 12 are arrayed such that the temperature of the zone upward is higher than that downward in the direction of the conveyance and the temperature of the downmost preheating zone D is set near the melting point of the metal soap. In order to gradually cool, according to a proper cooling temperature pattern, the metal soaps in a mold 11 which passes through zones E-I kept at different temperatures in a mold cooling zone 32 located at the outlet 31 of the injection apparatus 12, the temperature and length in the direction of the conveyance of each zone E-I are preset such that they correspond to the cooling temperature pattern. After the mold 11 is preheated to the temperature near the melting point of the metal soap in the preheating tunnel 30, the thermally molten metal soap is injected into the mold 11 through the injection apparatus 12, and subsequently the mold 11 is passed through the zones E-I in the mold cooling zone 32 to gradually cool the molded metal soap in the mold 11 according to the proper cooling temperature pattern to obtain a metal soap block free from cracks.
