To provide a variable orifice nozzle type injection nozzle operating for reducing or eliminating the problem of a load in the horizontal direction.
This injection nozzle 2 for an internal combustion engine has a nozzle body 3 defining a seat surface 7 and having at least one first nozzle outlet 9, and a valve member 8 stored in the nozzle body 3 and engageable with an external seat 11 defined by the seat surface 7 so as to control fuel injection passing through at least the one first nozzle outlet 9. A hole 32 having an inside hole surface is arranged in the valve member 8, and inserts 31 and 57 are stored in the hole 32. The inserts 31 and 57 have a partial spherical head 34. The partial spherical head 34 maintains contact with an inner surface of the hole 32 when the valve member 8 moves in use, and is extended to an inner diameter of the hole 32 so as to guide the movement of the valve member 8. The partial spherical head 34 also has a surface for defining an inside seat 50 for the valve member 8.
