To achieve remarkable saving of energy and power.
This injector is provided with a valve element 7 operable in an injector housing 2, and a spool range 13 and a seat diameter part 8 cooperated with the seat surface of the housing side are formed on the valve element 7. An inflow passage 12 communicating with a nozzle chamber 28 of an injection nozzle can be opened and closed through the seat diameter part 8. The valve element 7 is formed as a three-port three-position control valve to control a control chamber 21 exerting an influence upon a stroke 33 of a nozzle needle 23 through the spool range 13 of the three-port three-position control valve.
