Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge in which a case can be formed readily while arranging ink chambers and passages communicating with the atmosphere which can be interconnected readily.
SOLUTION: An ink cartridge 1 comprises a case 2 sectioned into a first chamber 9 for containing ink being supplied to a recording head 72, and a passage 11 communicating with the atmosphere. On one face side of the case 2, an opening 17 communicating with the first chamber 9 and a second chamber 10 and supplying ink to the recording head 72, and a hole 18 communicating with the passage 11 and the atmosphere are made to open in the same direction. On the other face side of the case 2, a recessed passage 16 is formed while opening to the side opposite to the first chamber 9, the second chamber 10 and the passage 11. Openings communicating with the first chamber 9 and the passage 11 are made at the opposite ends of the passage 16.
