Abstract:
To provide a cationic dye suitable for use in a water-base ink for ink jet printing, giving a bright light-stable image.
An ink composition for ink jet printing is made which contains water, a wetting agent, and a delocalized cationic azo dye derived from the quaternization of a nitrogenous heterocyclic azo dye represented by formula (1).
