To provide an ink composition having good preservability of the ink and printed image fastness and high curing rate and provide an ink-jet recording method using the ink composition.

The ink composition contains a polymerizable compound, a photopolymerization initiator and at least one kind of N-nitrosamine compound or its metal salt. As an alternative, the ink composition contains a polymerizable compound, a photopolymerization initiator and a hydroquinone having branched alkyl groups at 2,5-site. The invention further provides an ink-jet recording method containing a step to print the ink composition on a recording material by an ink-jet printer and a step to cure the printed ink composition by the irradiation of an actinic radiation.
